Reported speech is used when we tell someone what another person said.
We usually change the tense and pronouns.
1️⃣ Changing Tenses in Reported Speech

Present → Past

Direct: She said, “I am tired.”

Reported: She said (that) she was tired.

Present Continuous → Past Continuous

Direct: He said, “I am reading.”

Reported: He said (that) he was reading.

Past Simple → Past Perfect

Direct: They said, “We visited Paris.”

Reported: They said (that) they had visited Paris.

Will → Would

Direct: She said, “I will call you.”

Reported: She said (that) she would call me.

Direct: He said, “I love my dog.”

Reported: He said that he loved his dog.
3️⃣ Time Expressions Change
