Last summer, I decided to travel to a small village in Nepal. I had always dreamed of visiting the Himalayas, the highest mountains in the world. My journey began in the busy city of Kathmandu, full of noise, traffic, and colorful shops. From there, I took a small bus that climbed up narrow, winding roads into the mountains.
The ride was not easy. The road was bumpy, and sometimes I felt as if the bus might fall off the edge of the cliff. But every time I looked out of the window, I saw green valleys, waterfalls, and tiny villages where children waved at us. It felt like a magical world far away from modern life.
After a day of traveling, I reached a village called Namche. The people were kind and welcoming. They lived in small wooden houses decorated with prayer flags. In the evenings, the air was cold, and the stars looked brighter than anywhere I had seen before. I stayed in a local guesthouse where the owner gave me hot tea made with herbs from the mountains.
The next morning, I started my trek to the “Lost Mountain,” a hidden peak that locals spoke about with respect and mystery. According to them, not many tourists visited it because the path was difficult. I hired a guide named Dorje, a cheerful man who had climbed many mountains before.
We walked for hours each day, crossing hanging bridges, walking through forests of pine trees, and climbing steep stone steps. Sometimes we met yaks, big hairy animals carrying heavy loads up the trails. Dorje told me stories about the mountains, about gods and spirits who protected the land.
On the fourth day, after a long climb, we finally reached the Lost Mountain. It stood tall and silent, with white snow shining under the sun. The wind was strong, and the whole place felt peaceful. I sat there for a long time, feeling small but happy. Traveling so far had not been easy, but the beauty of the mountain made me forget all the tiredness.
When I returned to the village, I felt grateful for the journey. Traveling had not only shown me beautiful places but also taught me patience, courage, and respect for nature.
